Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: February 26, 2026

This site is designed to work without a cookie wall and without third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

I do process limited technical data to run the site, troubleshoot issues, and understand basic page usage. This page explains what is collected and why.

What This Site Uses

Server access logs (nginx / reverse proxy / ingress) may include your IP address, request path, timestamp, referrer, and user-agent so the site can be operated and debugged.

Self-hosted pageview logging records page navigation events through the /__pv endpoint. These logs are used to understand which pages are viewed and how visitors navigate between pages.

Theme preference storage uses browser local storage (key: seyvecou-theme) to remember your light/dark/system theme preference.

What This Site Does Not Use

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No third-party analytics scripts.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No cookie wall that blocks access to content.

Because the site does not currently use non-essential tracking cookies or similar third-party trackers, there is no cookie consent banner at this time.

Why Data Is Processed

Data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Serve pages and static assets reliably.
  • Detect abuse and troubleshoot failures.
  • Understand aggregate page usage and navigation trends.
  • Remember your visual theme preference on this device.

For EU/EEA visitors, the legal basis is generally legitimate interests for site operations and basic self-hosted analytics, plus storage/use of your theme preference as a user-requested functionality preference.

Retention

Logs are retained only as long as needed for operations, debugging, and abuse prevention, then removed through infrastructure log rotation and cleanup practices.

If a fixed retention period is introduced later, this page will be updated.

Sharing

I do not sell personal data and I do not share browsing data with third-party advertising networks.

Technical data may be processed by infrastructure components required to deliver the site (for example, reverse proxy, ingress controller, and hosting/network providers).

Your Choices and Rights

  • You can clear local storage in your browser to remove the theme preference.
  • You can enable Do Not Track; this site respects it for the pageview beacon.
  • Depending on your location (including EU/EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, object, erase, or restrict processing of personal data.
